John N. Akers was Academic Dean and Professor of Bible at Montreat College (Montreat, NC, USA) before becoming Special Assistant to Dr. Billy Graham. His responsibilities with Dr. Graham have included research, international ministry, and special projects. An ordained Presbyterian minister, Dr. Akers is the teacher of the L. Nelson Bell Bible Class at Christ Community Church in Montreat. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado, Columbia Theological Seminary, and the University of Edinburgh (Scotland). Dr. Akers and his wife, Anne, have one son, Tim, who lives with his wife in the Chicago area.
