Joni Eareckson Tada
Joni Eareckson Tada is an esteemed author, speaker, and global leader in disability advocacy. Although a 1967 diving accident left her a quadriplegic, she emerged from rehabilitation determined to help others with similar disabilities. Mrs. Tada served on the National Council on Disability under both President Reagan and President George H.W. Bush. During her tenure, the ADA was passed and signed into law. Mrs. Tada serves as CEO of Joni and Friends, an international Christian ministry that provides programs and services for thousands of families living with disability. She shares her message of hope through hardship through her artwork, books, radio broadcast, and other media. Joni and her husband Ken were married in 1982 and reside in Calabasas, California
