Luiz Sayão is the author of Mission 66 and is a gifted Bible scholar and radio teacher. He was born in 1963 in São Paulo, Brazil, and is a Baptist pastor, theologian, linguist, biblical translator, and Brazilian Hebraist. Luiz attended the University of São Paulo and earned a master's degree in Hebrew in 2000. “He is a biblical translator of recognized authority, having coordinated ... the commission that translated into Portuguese the New International Version, officially launched in Brazil on March 3, 2001, in a ceremony held in São Paulo. “In 2004, the evangelical magazine Eclésia described him as 'one of the greatest Brazilian specialists in the Holy Bible.' In 2003, he taught on biblical themes at the Baptist Theological Faculty of São Paulo and at the Servants of Christ Seminary. As of 2015, he was rector of the Baptist Seminary of Southern Brazil in Rio de Janeiro. ... As of 2020, he is senior pastor of the United Nations Baptist Church and a professor at Martin Bucer Seminary. In 2021, Luiz Sayão took over the Academic Direction of the Baptist Theological Faculty of São Paulo.
