As Darwin’s theory came into acceptance, “experts” began treating human beings as glorified animals without moral accountability. Sexually deviant behavior became simply the outworking of our evolutionary adaptation and programming, without ethical and religious imperatives. We may need “education” and “behavior modification,” but we certainly don’t need feelings of guilt and “religious” concepts like confession, punishment, repentance, restitution and forgiveness.

Furthermore, Darwin’s thesis is racist. The subtitle of his supposed masterpiece of intellectual insight is The Preservation of the Favored Races in the Struggle for Life. Indeed, “race betterment” has been a result of the biological principles articulated by Darwin. Acceptance of evolution has led to some of the worst intellectual justification for racism, genocide and war-mongering.

People like Margaret Sanger – who founded Planned Parenthood – simply took the idea of preserving “favored” people to its logical conclusion. Compulsory sterilization of the “unfit”, lobotomies and abortion have all been justified in the name of evolution. And Darwinism found its ultimate expression in the Nazi death camps. In fact, all three of the great genocidal regimes – Nazi Germany, Soviet Russia and Communist China – appealed to evolution as a basis for their ideology.

Ideas have consequences, and bad ideas have bad consequences. This is Darwin’s legacy – the legacy of one man.
