The Beach Head Of Worship

When Satan confronted Jesus in the wilderness, his primary, concentrated attack was upon Christ's worship of the Father. That worship represented a devotion that was perfect, as the affection for the Father was entire. The constant vision of His Father allowed Him to know the will of God, and be led perfectly from above. It was in the act and attitude of worship that the Father revealed Himself most profoundly, and constantly, to the Lord Jesus.

Standing At The Door

There is what is called imminency and urgency in the message of the gospel. Why? It is because of two things, the first of which is time, for every individual there is a time fixed by God for their existence on this earth. The second thing has to do with God "passing by," or Christ "standing at the door." Both pictures reveal the designed and determined intervention of God to save the most by working in an "acceptable time." That acceptable time is that in which He chooses to work wonderfully to reveal Himself through His word to the heart, in order for that person to come to know Him.

In The World Not Of The World

When the Bible speaks of the "world," and not being apart of it, it speaks of a system of thought, philosophy, and mentality, specifically that of godlessness. When we speak of godlessness, we are speaking of that which does not have its begining in God, nor the eternal blessing of God, for it is characterized by faithlessness, and cannot please God.

Dwelling In The Land

Christianity is very practical. It is also very tangible. Though faith is invisible, it is revealed by the actions of those who believe, and the God who moves in answer to it. Dwelling in the land is a very real, and tangible matter. It speaks of tangible blessing, keeping, guidance, and provision. This is in answer to faith, and a true seeking of God.

When Revival Comes

What is revival, but the knowing and experiencing again of the very Life of God by the Spirit. It comes in answer to prayer and faith, a seeking after God because of a thirst that is unquenchable for God, and the coming of His kingdom. It can be a personal, individual revival, or that of an entire church, denomination, area, or even nation. God is the delightful Giver of revival, for by it Christ is exalted and honored by the edification of the church, and the saving of man souls.

The Wrath Of God

What is the wrath of God? Is it real? How does it manifest itself? When the book of the Law of God was found in the temple, having been "lost," and certainly neglected for some time, the reading of it brought great conviction to the king. Why? There was the discovery that God's wrath was set against the nation. That wrath was His vehement antagonism to the sin which the people had flagrantly engaged in. In this case, at this time, it's effect would be deferred in mercy, but not forgiven.

The Simplicity And Power Of Psalm 23

How fathomless are the truths of the word of God in their meaning, and in their application in life. They are often presented to us in such a simple manner, that one could easily doubt their power. David found the contrary to be true. It was in the simplicity of the truth, that faith was enabled to lay hold on God for the intervention of God according to His promises and power.

The Effective Prayer

What is effective prayer but prayer that is heard by God, with Him responding to it? When the Lord, through Isaiah, said that He would accomplish all that He had declared by His word, He included believing prayer. When one prays by the Spirit, according to the word of God, God will hear and answer. God will accomplish His will and purpose.

The Active Anointing

When the Spirit of God was poured out, He anointed every believer. That anointing is to be counted upon, believed in, and appropriated for every need. God calls, anoints, fills and strengthens, by His Spirit, so that all provision for the doing of His will, and the glorifying of His name is present. A clean, believing heart is the great condition for living in the reality of this anointing.

In Heaven On Earth

Is it the will of God that something of heaven be known upon this earth? It seems to be that this is the definite, decisive will of God, to so live before Him, abiding in Christ, that the believer should know Christ in such a manner that His life is revealed "on earth." The believer is the means by which God today reveals, not only the truth by one's testimony, but the very life, the fragrance of the life of Christ.
