Tisha B’Av - A Day of Mourning (תִּשְׁעָה בְּאָב)

From chapter 1:1-7 of the book of Lamentations - אֵיכָה, brother Gideon Levytam relates the sad cry of Jeremiah, and the people of Judah, over the destruction of the Solomonic Temple by the Babylonians in 586 B.C. It was on the 9th day of the Hebrew month of Av, when Nebuchadnezzar and his army destroyed Jerusalem, burnt the Temple of God, and carried away many of the Jews to Babylon. This day of Tisha B’Av (תִּשְׁעָה בְּאָב) became a day of mourning for the Jews, as many catastrophes took place on that same day.

Ephesians 4:4-6 - One Body, One Spirit, One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism, One God

From Ephesians 4:4-6, Gideon Levytam presents the fact that during this unique age, God is building His church/assembly. Although history records the church's sad failure in maintaining practical unity, yet before God there is ONLY one body of all true believers in Jesus the Messiah. There is ONLY one Body, one Spirit, one Lord, one Faith, one Baptism, one God. Yeshua the Messiah said to Peter, ”thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my assembly/church - וְעַל־הַצּוּר הַזֶּה אֶבְנֶה אֶת־קְהִלָּתִי; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18.

Daniel 3:1-15 - The Golden Image King Nebuchadnezzar Made of Himself

From Chapter 3:1-15 of the prophecy of Daniel (דָנִיאֶל), brother Gideon Levytam describes the evil doings of King Nebuchadnezzar. In his pride, King Nebuchadnezzar had a golden image made of himself, at its dedication he commanded that all the people, the rulers, nations and languages were to fall down and worship the image. When all fell down and worshiped Nebuchadnezzar’s image, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stayed faithful to their God and did not bow down to the image. Certain wisemen of Babylon, accused them out of envy, and brought them to stand trial before the angry king of Babylon.

Daniel 2:36-49 - Daniel Interprets the Dream of the Image

From Chapter 2:36-49 of the prophecy of Daniel (דָנִיאֶל), brother Gideon Levytam continues with Daniel’s interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s dream of the great Image. Daniel told Nebuchadnezzar that he had been given this unique dream by the ruler and sovereign God of heaven, so that he would know God’s plan and program for the world, and His people Israel. The great image portrays the period of time in human history, called by Yeshua / Jesus the Messiah, the "Times of the Gentiles” (עִתּוֹת הַגּוֹיִם) Luke 21:24, which began in the year 586 BC, when the Babylonians destroyed Jerusalem, burnt its Temple, and took captive the Jewish people to Babylon. The "Times of the Gentiles" will end after the seven years of the tribulation, known as Jacob’s Trouble, when Yeshua / Jesus the Messiah will come again, to restore Israel and reign over the whole world as King of kings and Lord of lords.

Ephesians 3:14-21 - Know the Breadth, Length, Depth, and Height of Messiah's Love

From Ephesians 3:14-21, Gideon Levytam expounds Paul’s sincere prayer for the believers in Ephesus. Paul, who was called to be an apostle to the Gentiles, was concerned for the believers in Jesus the Messiah. He wished that they would be strengthened by the Holy Spirit, and know of the love of Christ which exceeds all human knowledge. Being rooted and grounded in the love of Jesus the Messiah, will result in a heartfelt response of praise and worship to God.
