Rosh Hashanah - The Feast of Trumpets (2022) (זִכְרוׂן תְרוּעָה - רֹאש הַשָנָה)

From Chapter 23:23-25 of the book of Leviticus (וַיִּקְרָא), brother Gideon Levytam shows the significance of The Feast of Trumpets, the fifth of the Seven Feasts of the LORD. In Hebrew, this feast is called "The Memorial of the blowing of the Trumpets” (זִכְרוׂן תְרוּעָה), as well as "The Day of the blowing of the Trumpets” (יִום תְרוּעָה). In Leviticus 23:23-25, God commanded His people to blow the shofar on the first day of Tishrei, without giving them the reason why. The Feast of Trumpets is the first of the Fall Feasts of the LORD, and prophetically, it looks forward to the regathering of the Jewish people back to their own land, in anticipation of their national salvation. This Feast is also called Rosh Hashanah (רֹאש הַשָנָה), the head of the year, It is a solemn day, as the Jewish people believe that on that day, God sits as a judge, judging each person as to their future destiny.

Daniel 4:1-18 - Nebuchadnezzar's Dream of a High Tree Which Was Hewn Down

From Chapter 4:1-18 of the prophecy of Daniel (דָנִיאֶל), brother Gideon Levytam relates king Nebuchadnezzar’s proclamation to all the nations in his realm. He proclaimed what God had wrought in his life during his days of prosperity and how God spoke to him through another dream, a dream of a high and strong tree which was hewn down. No one was able to interpret this dream, until Daniel was called to stand before the king and provide its interpretation.

Philippians 2:1-11 - Jesus the Messiah, Our Great Example

From Chapter 2:1-11 of Paul’s letter to the Philippians (אֶל־הַפִּילִפִּיִּים), brother Gideon Levytam describes Paul’s appeal to the believers in Philippi. Shaul / Paul longed for the believers in Jesus the Messiah to be likeminded, undivided, having love towards one another. To obtain this practical unity, they needed to look to Yeshua, who is the greatest example of the “perfect man”. Though equal with God, Jesus the Messiah, willingly humbled Himself, making Himself of no reputation, becoming the obedient servant of the LORD, who gave Himself as a sacrifice for sin on the Roman cross. Therefore God has highly exalted Him, giving Him a name which is above every name.

Prophecies of the Messiah - The Seed of the Woman (הַמָּשִׁיחַ זֶרָע הָאִישָה)

From Genesis 3:15, Gideon Levytam points to the first prophetic promise in the Hebrew Scriptures which God made concerning the Messiah. The Holy Spirit of God would overshadow the woman and the Messiah - הַמָּשִׁיחַ, would be born supernaturally, without involvement of man’s seed. The Messiah would be a sinless Man, who would suffer and die for the sin of the world, and through His death, the sinless Messiah would defeat satan, and provide salvation to all who will trust in Him.

Romans 5:1-11 - The Benefit of Our Justification

From Chapter 5:1-11 of Paul’s letter to the Romans (אֶל־הָרוֹמִיִּים), brother Gideon Levytam points out the important doctrine that the apostle Paul impressed upon the believers in Rome. Shaul / Paul taught the Roman believers, that because of their sincere faith in Jesus the Messiah, they were once and for all justified before God, and had peace (Shalom-שָלוֹם) with God. The Messiah's death, burial and resurrection, satisfied God, who now can justify any sinner who turns to Him by faith. True believers in Yeshua, not only have the promise of eternal life, they also posses benefits that accompany their justification. These benefits are peace, access to God, grace, joy, sure hope, godly character, and God’s love in their hearts.

Ephesians 4:11 - Messiah Gave Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Teachers

From Ephesians 4:11, Gideon Levytam points to the various spiritual gifts given to certain individuals by the risen Messiah, “מָּשִׁיחַ”, for the benefit of God’s people during the church age. These gifted persons did not earn their gifts by any effort of their own and were not to use their gifts for their own selfish will. They received the gifts of ministry as apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers, in order that God’s people will be edified and blessed. Spiritual gifts can only be carried out properly, when God’s servants are submissive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

Daniel 3:26-30 - The Faithful Hebrews Delivered From the Burning Fiery Furnace

From Chapter 3:26-30 of the prophecy of Daniel (דָנִיאֶל), brother Gideon Levytam shows the faithfulness of the godly Hebrew young men, resulting in their deliverance from the burning fiery furnace. King Nebuchadnezzar, along with his princes, governors, captains and counselors, witnessed the protection of Israel’s God over His servants. The fire had not affected their bodies, their clothes, neither was the hair on their head singed, not even the smell of the fire was on them. This caused king Nebuchadnezzar to bless the God of Israel, and make a decree. "That every people, nation, and language, which speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, (Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah), shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill”.
