The Christian Life is A Fight
Theodore Roosevelt once said: “Nothing in the world is worth having or worth doing unless it means effort, pain, difficulty… I have never in my life envied a human being who led an easy life. I have envied a great many people who led difficult lives and led them well.” The Apostle Paul would agree. In today message we find Paul contending for the faith- not only for himself, but for others. Yes, the Christian life is a fight, so open your bibles to Colossians chapter two and “let’s get ready to rumble!”
The Shepherd & The Family
On this Father’s Day the passage in John chapter 10 reminds us all of the lesson Jesus gives us about fathers and family: Dads are like shepherds.
The Call To Serve Is A Call To Suffer
Serving God is not for the weak of heart. Don’t believe me? Ask Noah. Ask Moses. Ask Daniel. Ask Stephen. Ask Paul. Today’s message is a sobering one. Service and suffering and inextricably linked.
Jesus Is Our Reconciliation
Sin is separation. The instant that Adam & Eve sinned, they became separated from God. From before the world began, God had a plan to bring them back to Himself. That’s reconciliation, and that’s the subject of today’s teaching.
The Formula For Revival
We all know that H20 is the chemical composition that produces water. If you want water, you have to have the correct amount of each element. If you want revival, there’s a formula for that too. From our archive of messages with Dr. B. Sam Hart today we find out what it is.
The Spirit God God Produces Change
Today’s teaching focuses on the third Person of the Trinity, The Holy Spirit, and his ministries in the life of the believer. One of those ministries is the ministry of rejuvenation. The old is gone, the new has come.
The Gospel Can Be A Blessing Or A Curse
Today’s teaching is about the Gospel. The word gospel literally means “good news” and it occurs 93 times in the Bible. Broadly speaking, it is the whole of Scripture; more specifically, it is the good news concerning Christ and the way of salvation. The gospel is the good news that God loved the world enough to give His only Son to die for our sin. The gospel is good news because our salvation and eternal life and home in heaven are guaranteed through Christ. To those who accept it, it is a blessing. But to those who refuse it, that’s another story- one that we’ll examine in today’s teaching.
Is It Well With You?
On this Mother’s Day there is a question posed in today’s passage from 2Kings chapter 4. There we find a woman in very dire circumstances. But as we will see, God was greater than her circumstances.
Grace Means You Don’t Have To Fear
Grace is a constant theme in the Bible, and it culminates in the New Testament with the coming of Jesus, but it is manifested from Genesis to Revelation. Grace is God choosing to bless us rather than curse us as our sin deserves. It is His benevolence to the undeserving. And when we operate in it, we need fear no weapon formed against us.
There Are Consequences When You Disobey
God is a good father who wants to bless us in every area of our lives. But like all good parents, He often must teach us about the repercussions of our disobedience to Him. It’s sometimes a tough lesson, but it’s always a necessary one.
