It’s one of the most forgotten days of the year.

Father’s Day. Yep, it’s one of the most forgotten holidays. One survey says 32% of fathers polled “say their kids have completely FORGOTTEN about Father’s Day at least once.” The same survey found that even when we are remembered, we get things like painted rocks, “Greatest Dad” coffee mugs, or even Santa Claus ties. I’m guilty. But, stepfathers—that’s even worse. You love your new family to pieces, but to them you’ll never quite be their dad, even though you want to. It took me a while to learn this, but be okay with that. Be godly, show unconditional love, be ready to face heartbreak, but celebrate the little things. Remember, your reward is in heaven. No card or silly coffee mug will overshadow THAT gift.
