Many have struggled with four-year-olds. Especially strong-willed ones. “I’m Mike Donehey from Tenth Avenue North. My four-year-old is a very persistent, independent, and fiery spirit. I’m always tempted to squash her spirit. ‘Just obey me,’ instead of being patient with her and learning to guide her vivaciousness.” Not easy to do, Mike. It’s easy for parents like me who are pleasers to just want compliance in our homes. But, you know, many strong-willed kids grow up to be good, solid Christian leaders if they’re guided correctly and taught truths of the Bible. Don’t ignore bad behavior. Coach it. Address it head-on.
