It’s my birthday—what should I celebrate?

I don’t typically go around telling people it’s my birthday. Frankly, it’s not that big of a deal. I’ve never been one to WANT to celebrate it either. But I’m finding that the older I get, the more I use this anniversary to monitor my progress of leaving a legacy. Do you ever think about that on your birthday? I probably think about it more than others. I never had any biological kids. I have three stepkids and an adoptive daughter, who are now adults. Leaving a legacy, though, is more than having children and telling family stories. It’s sharing the Gospel, opening the Bible, and training them to be Christ-followers. If you have younger kids, use your birthday to monitor your spiritual legacy progress. It’s the only one that really matters.
