I just lied to my kids–I feel terrible!

How many of us have been there? None of us make it a practice of lying to our kids, but sometimes it happens. I’m NOT excusing it. I heard someone say, “It’s NEVER okay to lie to our kids.” I know, I get it. Mine happened when my kids were asking uncomfortable questions. Like, “Where do babies come from?” and “How did they get there?” or, “Is the tooth fairy real?” Or, how about this one from your teenager? “Did you ever do (fill in the blank) when you were a teen?” If you were a bit rebellious growing up, the answer could be yes, and explain THAT one! We can’t lie. When we do. Admit it. Confess it. And ask forgiveness for it. That lesson: priceless.
