While sports and music can teach our kids valuable lessons, as Christians, we recognize that our faith in Jesus Christ should always take precedence. Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness and all these things will be given to you as well." How do we do that? Model it. Prioritize personal time with God. Engage in prayer, studying scripture and participating in worship services together as a family. Family devotions, maybe using Keys for Kids or Unlocked devotionals to help. By placing Christ at the center of our families, we not only strengthen our relationship with Him, but also create a foundation of faith that will guide our kids throughout their lives. Remember, if we make church or Christ optional, our kids will make them optional too.
