Love and laughter make a home.

Yesterday, I asked you the question, “Do you speak the truth in love, or do you bite people?” 1 Corinthians 13 emphasizes love. As parents, it’s really easy to fall into the overprotective mode of parenting. Paul says “love is patient, love is kind,” “it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs” (from 1 Corinthians 13:4-5 NIV). If you have a child who pushes you to the edge almost every day, you know how easy it is to fall into frustration, disappointment, and, sometimes, loud interaction. Keep 1 Corinthians 13 at the forefront of your mind. “Love…rejoices with the truth. It always protects,…trusts,…hopes,…[and] perseveres” (verses 6-7 NIV). When your son or daughter pushes you to the limit, remember discipline—but don't forget about love. Without love, Paul says, we’re nothing (verse 2).
