What are you FOR—and not against?

In this political season, we can’t help but hear the things politicians are against. My question is, “What are they FOR?” It’s the same question I have for Christians. There are a lot of churches who tell their communities that they’re against homosexuality, abortion, and divorce. It’s like they’re more interested in biting people than they are in loving people. As Christians, we’re not FOR any of those things. But, what are we FOR that appeals to our culture? As parents, it’s easy for us to fall into the same trap—telling our kids what we’re against and not what we’re for. 1 Corinthians 13:1 is clear: we’re “only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal” if we don’t love people (AMP). Parents, speak truth, but don’t bite your kids. Love them. More on that tomorrow.
