Should I hover, or ignore?

Are we as involved in our kids’ lives as we need to be? Are we more or less involved compared to other parents? Ann told me one of her daughters begged for her to be a room parent, but another daughter didn’t want her to. Who wants to be the hovering parent that doesn’t let their kids do anything outside our line of sight? Or be the parent who’s so “hands-off” we don’t look like we care? As with anything, there’s balance. Remember, though, God created you specifically to be your kids’ parents—not somebody else’s. Some of your kids will require more hovering, while others won’t. Love your kids unconditionally, teach them respect, and, most importantly, teach them about Christ. Kids NEED that kind of hovering.
