We've all heard the story of the footprints in the sand, in which a believer, while walking along a beach with Jesus, looks back to see only one set of footprints from time to time. They ask Jesus where he was during those times. Had he left the believer alone? Jesus replies, "My child, those were the times when I carried you." Its a lovely story, but it would be reasonable for the believer to look side-eye at Jesus and ask, "Really?" In today's episode of Understanding God's Word, Dr. John Akers assures us, "Yes, really."
