The God Of The Sanctuary
God's call to man is first to worship, for in the true worship of God in "Spirit and truth," He reveals Himself to the heart and mind. God responds to the individual who is willing to worship Him, reverence and adore Him. True service is born out of worship, for in beholding the Lord, living in the reality of His presence, faith is strengthened and renewed. God reveals Himself by the Spirit to the one who will truly worship Him according to His word.
The Essential Of Simplicity
God, in dealing with us, is very clear in His working. Though there are many things which we cannot grasp, yet, He meets us where we are. His words are at the same time infinitely deep, and yet simple and straightforward. There is no confusion with Him. He is the God of light, and delights in clarity.
God's Confirmation Of The Calling
God is able to convict of sin, and save. He also is able to confirm to the heart that which is truly of Him, especially His calling of an individual. As the gifts and calling are without repentance, and as the believer has the duty to make his calling sure, certainly God can be sought and found to make clear the calling of God for one's life.
Christ Our King
Who is Christ, born in a manger, dying on a cross, and rising from the dead? He is what he has always been, the King, that one who possesses heaven and earth, the Ruler, Sovereign, to whom the Father has given the keys of death and hell. The Father has also committed to Him all power and the authority of heaven to bring about His perfect will on earth, accomplishing redemption for men, that they might be saved and glorify Him.
Christ Is All
When Christ died on Calvary, He did not redeem us to be something to us, but all. What does this mean? The things of earth are nothing compared to God, the Maker of them all. Likewise, the things of heaven, and the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, are declared to be not only holy, but absolutely worthy to be wholly worshiped and served. This wonderful, counselor, Almighty God, and Prince of Peace, is the soul's highest, and most blessed possession. It is in knowing Christ that we are truly filled with His goodness and grace.
Behold Your God
It is beholding Christ that we behold God. He was not only the expression of Him, but He explained Him. When Christ took upon Himself flesh, and dwelt among us, it was for the purpose of revealing God to us, but also to accomplish for lost man that which he could never accomplish for himself, forgiveness of sins, and life eternal.
The Triumphant Song and Singing
One of the expressions and declarations of the victory that we have in Christ, is the songs which He gives us. Those songs, whether Psalms, or hymns, or spiritual songs, He gives to the heart. Sometimes they come in the night when all is quiet, and our attention is upon Him. Sometimes they come in the sanctuary in worship, or even in the midst of spiritual conflict.
The Search For An Intercessor
God is ever seeking to save the lost, and to bring about great blessing to men. In order to do this, as He has chosen to work in and through men for His purposes, He seeks one who is willing to take a position of faith, and stand in the gap to pray for individuals, and nations. Can He find such a person in us?
Oneness With Christ
Perhaps one of the greatest truths for the Christian today on this side of Pentecost is our oneness with Christ. Having been placed IN HIM by the Father at the new birth, Christ has become our life, light, hope, and love. We are called upon to believe the gospel that we are complete in Him, and have all in Him that pertains to life and godliness.
God's Work In Us
One of the great miracles of man's existence is that God our Creator works individually in us, both to will and to do of His good pleasure. He does this often very quietly, but certainly, to reveal first of all His glory, but also to bless the one whom He loves. Can we not trust Eternal Love to work all that is good in our hearts for His purpose and glory?
