The Assurance Of Victory
Where does assurance come from when one is faced with a spiritual battle? It comes first from knowing something of our Lord, who He is, and what He will do to reveal His glory. Christ has never lost a battle, and certainly not the greatest battle of all, that which was won on the cross. Our hope, based upon His faithfulness is this, He will remain victorious. We are to by faith share in that victory for His glory. Herein lies the assurance, the testimony of the Spirit of truth to our hearts.
The All-Sufficient God
It is inconceivable that God will not provide fully for that which He calls us to do. If all the glory is to be His for that which He will do, He will, according to His nature give all that He requires. "All is in Christ, by the Holy Spirit, for the glory of God, all else is nothing." (T. Monod)
Every Thought Captive
The mind is a spiritual battle ground, for there will lodge either truth or the lie. God is a God of truth, not only by what He declares, but by what He IS. Jesus revealed this by His life, and words. The battle in the mind is one of receiving truth, holding on to it, and not allowing it to be polluted by the lie. God will bless the truth, but not the lie.
The Road To Heaven
All of God's roads lead to heaven...to the Christ seated at the right hand of the Father. The heavenly perspective of things as they are provides the believer with the truth-filled basis for believing God to work on earth as in heaven. It was as the Lord Jesus SAW what the Father would do, that He would believe absolutely in His power to accomplish it.
The Promise Of The Father
What is the promise of the Father except the design and way of God in dealing with me, giving him an opportunity to see the glory of God. How? It is by giving man the promise of His works, that man can truly, specifically, trust Him, and thus, SEE His glory revealed when He fulfills that promise.
The Permanent Gifts And Calling
To every child of God are given gifts from God, for a purpose, and ultimately to reveal that Christ is God, and that He is good. The question then becomes, "'What are these gifts?" God reveals them to the believer who truly seeks Him, for He will entrust their use to the one who is faithful to Him. It is as the believer walks with the Giver, the Father, Christ by the Spirit, that there is the full utilizaiton of these gifts.
Led To Christ Our Rock
When God calls a man, or draws out his heart to Him, it is to lead him to the Rock...to Christ. For in Christ is found everything, all that is good and perfect, holy and true. It is one thing to be led to Christ; it is another, and yet, a wondrous work on a daily basis, to be led by the Spirit for the glory of Christ. "All in Christ, by the Holy Spirit, for the glory of God, all else is nothing."
Being Led By God
Can God lead an individual by the desires and convictions of his heart, and through circumstances? Is Christ the great Shepherd who calls all of His own sheep by their names, and leads them forth. All through the Psalms we discover not only the call of the heart to God that He lead, but also, the certainty to have known that He has done so. How? By faith.
The Power That Works Within Us
When a person realizes that he is lost, and without God in this world, there is the conviction of helplessness, thus, the soul cries out to God to be saved. God hears the cry of the lost sinner, and responds by giving him power to live, a power that is by the Holy Spirit. It is then that the lost sinner is born again, venturing forth in the new life of faith, trusting in the power of God.
The New Covenant Of God
A covenant is God reaching out to men, to give them a life-bouy, that they can be saved. Not only this, it is a verbal offer to men, who can, by the grace of God received, lay hold on God, and believe Him for the full outworking of His will. The purpose of the covenant is to reveal first of all the glory of God, and secondly, to bless man, and make him a blessing from an eternal standpoint.
