The Prayer For Time

Time is a gift of God, a gift which possesses great possibility to glorify God, and increasingly come to know Christ more deeply. Just the realization that God has created time, and man to live in it, is evidence that God has a reason for it. He has provided it, and certainly He has a purpose, plan, and provision for it. In His time, He brings lig…read more

The Power Of The Word Of God

There is power in the word of God, for there is no dissonance, or discord between His word and His nature. Secondly, by His commandments, the power of God is engaged for the accomplishment of His will. His promises are certain, for God is the Sovereign, Almighty God, for whom all things are possible because of His commitment to fulfill them. For those who have true faith in God, Christ is not only a reality, but one's strength and life according to His word.

The Goodness Of God

It is one thing to hear about the goodness of God, and quite another to experience it. God's goodness is that revelation of Himself that brings joy to the soul, thanksgiving to the heart, and peace, with the assurance of His grace and mercy. His goodness is coupled with His blessing, and in that blessing there is no sorrow. To see the goodness of God is to realize and grasp that God is good not only by what he does, but primarily by what He is.

The Church's Mission

What is the mission of the church, the living body of Christ? For Christ it was to obtain redemption for all men. Is not the mission of the church to communicate that message of redemption to a lost and dying world, so that by the objective truth of the Gospel and the subjective, manifest presence of the Spirit of Christ, men should come to know Him, living for eternity for His glory and their blessing?

The Authority Of The Preacher And The Believer

In the matters pertaining to the Kingdom of God, that which is of essential and great importance, is the issue of authority and power. The Apostle Paul wrote: "For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power." (1 Cor. 4:20) The power of God is that capacity of God to accomplish any and everything in His will regardless of anything in creation, whether visible or invisible. His power is that given capacity to overcome, and reign in life.

The Restorer Of The Soul

God alone can restore one's soul, for to do so requires the intervention of God to forgive sin, correct and instruct the believer in way he should choose, but also to encourage, uplift, console, and strengthen the weary heart in time of need. God alone knows at all times that which each individual soul needs. He gives great grace to the one who will truly seek Him for it. He will not fail to do so.

The Quiet But Certain Strength

The strength that God gives is not loud, although when His servants preach the Gospel that power and strength is manifested by the "demonstration and power of the Spirit. The results of God's power are as many, and more, than all of the needs of men. He gives strength out of quietness, power to the expectant soul, in order that His will is done, and His blessed and high purposes are realized.

The Conquering Christian

Christ was never conquered but overcame every obstacle and enemy to finish the work which the Father had given Him. Praise God that He did, for in doing so, He obtained for us an eternal salvation which cannot be altered or destroyed. This salvation is as sure and enduring as Christ Himself. He is the great Conqueror, and when He comes to dwell in the heart by faith, His conquering Life becomes our own.

Resting In The Lord

To believe in Christ is to rest in Him, find one's peace and calm in Him. Why? It is because of His sufficiency and faithfulness. Christ is the life of the believer, and the believer's capacity and ability to receive all that is needful from the Father for the glorifying of His will. Though storms may assail us, there is peace in the Eternal Rock to whom we belong, and Him belonging to us.

God's Eternal Confirmation By The Resurrection

Only God the Father could confirm to the world, and to humanity in its entirety, that Jesus Christ was His only begotten Son. This He would do by raising Him from the dead. This was the indisputable truth and action by which God sealed for time and eternity that Christ was indeed the Savior of the world, the coming King of kings and Lord of lords.

Essential Points In Prayer

The prayers of men of God in the Bible, along with those of Christ, have been given to men, to believers, to pray, for by them the Father will work in answer to them. This means that true prayer is not a hit or miss proposition of God, but a certainty when prayer is by the Spirit of God, in Jesus' name, praying according to the will of God. God, by His Spirit, teaches us to pray so that He can reveal His glory.
