The Quiet But Certain Strength
The strength that God gives is not loud, although when His servants preach the Gospel that power and strength is manifested by the "demonstration and power of the Spirit. The results of God's power are as many, and more, than all of the needs of men. He gives strength out of quietness, power to the expectant soul, in order that His will is done, and His blessed and high purposes are realized.
The Conquering Christian
Christ was never conquered but overcame every obstacle and enemy to finish the work which the Father had given Him. Praise God that He did, for in doing so, He obtained for us an eternal salvation which cannot be altered or destroyed. This salvation is as sure and enduring as Christ Himself. He is the great Conqueror, and when He comes to dwell in the heart by faith, His conquering Life becomes our own.
Resting In The Lord
To believe in Christ is to rest in Him, find one's peace and calm in Him. Why? It is because of His sufficiency and faithfulness. Christ is the life of the believer, and the believer's capacity and ability to receive all that is needful from the Father for the glorifying of His will. Though storms may assail us, there is peace in the Eternal Rock to whom we belong, and Him belonging to us.
God's Eternal Confirmation By The Resurrection
Only God the Father could confirm to the world, and to humanity in its entirety, that Jesus Christ was His only begotten Son. This He would do by raising Him from the dead. This was the indisputable truth and action by which God sealed for time and eternity that Christ was indeed the Savior of the world, the coming King of kings and Lord of lords.
Essential Points In Prayer
The prayers of men of God in the Bible, along with those of Christ, have been given to men, to believers, to pray, for by them the Father will work in answer to them. This means that true prayer is not a hit or miss proposition of God, but a certainty when prayer is by the Spirit of God, in Jesus' name, praying according to the will of God. God, by His Spirit, teaches us to pray so that He can reveal His glory.
Work While It Is Day
Time is an opportunity for doing good. "Day" is a portion of time that we are to be careful to use well for God's glory. Every day is an opportunity to serve Christ, and to serve Him faithfully, using well the gifts and calling that He has given to each of us. May God give us grace to use well such an opportunity, for in that "day" we shall have the opportunity to know Christ more.
The Perfect Peace Of God
God's peace is perfect, in that it comes from the One who is perfect. That peace is a gift of God to confirm the knowledge of His will, and the truth of our walk with Him. It is also that which is given to be a "guardian," or umpire in our hearts, for God gives His peace when we are in conformity with Him, His will, for His purposes. His peace also is a guide, keeping us in the way we should go.
The Peace That Passes Understanding
The peace of God is just that...of God. It has its origin in Him, in Christ by the Spirit, and the revelation of it in the heart by the Spirit. It is a gift to be known by the believer who is trusting and resting in Christ, doing His will. One cannot understand it, nor grasp the magnitude of it, but it can be known, and experienced in the life.
The Believer's Marching Orders
God's commands are God's enablement. Often times there comes a command of God to be obeyed, specific to a certain situation. The manifestation of Christ's victory will depend in great part upon the obedience of the believer to the command of God, of Christ, in that situation.
Sit, Walk, Stand
The Christian life begins with sitting down! This means discovering and abiding by all that now has become true of him in Christ. It is only then, as he discovers increasingly this great works of salvation, and his oneness with Christ, that he can begin to walk by faith, and stand against the attacks of the adversary.
