The Perfect Provision Of The Spirit
What is God's provision for His work? It is Himself, by the Spirit, in the name of the Lord Jesus. God's work is just that, the work of God. And He accomplishes His work in His way, time, and for His purposes, by the Spirit alone. For this He shall receive all the glory. Can He find those who will trust Him to do so, and give Him all the glory for it?
The Miracle At Siloam's Pool
It was a place of gathering for many folk who were sick, or crippled, all who hoped in a miracle. But it would be to one in particular that the Lord Jesus would command to go and wash in the pool. where his blindness would be healed. Why? Because in one particular heart, God intended to respond to faith, true faith. Jesus' dealings with this one individual, would result not only in healing, but it would be a testimony to all, that God had come in Christ, and there was hope for all who would truly believe in Him.
The Essential Of Oneness With Christ
The great mystery revealed to and for the church in the last days, is the oneness that now existes between Christ and His church. He is IN every believer, and every believer is IN Him. Though there may not be a consistency of abiding in Christ, and living in fellowship with Him, there is never a moment when the believer is separated from Him. The great salvation promised to men is that He should come and dwell in them, that out of this blessed, eternal union with Christ, they should by faifh know Him.
The Call Of The Shepherd
What changes one's life? It is the call of God, whether concerning the vocation or calling in life, or the daily call to fellowship with the Son of God. It is not only the awareness and conviction that God is speaking to the heart, but the assurance that He gives so that the chlld of God will believe Him, and follow Him implicitly. It is in the exercise of faith that Christ is known.
Two Men, Two Prayers, God's Response
Many have been the examples in the Scriptures of individuals who have called out to God, and trusted Him for an answer from heaven. Many have been those also who have received that for which they prayed. What was the key? It was first and foremost an aloneness with God, a meeting with God in the secret place. God meets and responds to the individual who is willing to seek Him alone, singularly placing all of his hope in Him.
The Worth Of A Soul
Where does worth, true worth, come from? Is it not from the ONE who is truly worthy to be worshipped as Creator and Redeemer? Consequently, since this is the case, then that which is truly worthy, or possesses worth, is what the Creator or Redeemer chooses to give to His creation. The measure of that worth is love, a love having no limit, for the worth given has none either. This is why Christ died on Calvary. Only such love could declare and prove such worth, the worth of a soul.
The Fourth Absolute Position Of Faith
Freedom of heart, soul, mind, and spirit, comes with a knowledge of the eternal truth of God as declared in the Scriptures, especially by the Son of God, Christ. As one comes to God according to the truth, and appeals to the Lord Jesus Christ as one's power and life, He gives such to be free. His words declare one's freedom, and His power received, brings it about in the life.
The Fourth Absolute Position Of Faith
The experience of the Christian will not be that of being conformed into the image of God, unless there is whole-hearted faith IN God concerning what is true of the believer IN Christ. This means not only a change in position, from being in Adam then being in Christ, but the act and attitude of deriving all from Him by fatih, receiving from all from Him.
Paying A Debt With A Pot Of Oil
Oil can be a very precious commodity when using it to pay a debt, especially if it concerngs setting free someone. Such was the case with a woman who came to the prophet Elisha. God would provide for this woman of faith, whose debts could not be paid, except that God would intervene. This He would do, but the woman would need to come, lay the need before God, and then act exactly according to his word. This she did, and her debt was paid.
The God Of The Captivity
God is not only the God of that which is good, pleasant, and a delight, with regard to life and blessing, but He is also the God of the captivity. He knows where we live, and in the circumstances of His choosing, which sometimes are very difficult. It is there that He reveals Himself to our souls, and meets the deep needs of the heart. He is the God of the "green pastures and still waters," but also, He is the great consolation and hope of our hearts.
