Revelation And Redeeming The Time

How shall we use well the time that God has given us? The answer begins with realizing that we are responsible to God for our time. The second thing to grasp is that only God can show us how to use the opportunity that He has given us. This will invariably lead us to prayer in an attitude of dependence upon the Spirit of God, trusting the Lord Jesus for His wisdom and guidance.

I Will Abide In You

What does it mean to live for and by God? It begins with the work of Christ, which not only deals with sin, but places the believer in Christ, in living union with Him by the Spirit. It is out of this blessed union that the believer is called upon to live by faith, deriving all from Christ by that inward aspiration of faith. The promise of God is that Christ will abide in us.

Comparisons Of Glory

The glory of God is that revelation of Himself, and the attibuting to Him His worth in worship. To declare "Glory be to God," is to proclaim the worth and beauty of His person, the wonder of His holy nature and person. God helps us to understand the magnitude of His glory by giving to us comparisons. This we will see if we trust the Spirit of God to make His glory real to us.

The Knowledge Of His Ways

How can one know the ways of God? And why should we seek to know them? Moses answers both of these questions. The first answer is that is in seeking God in prayer and the Scriptures that we will come to know His ways. He reveals them to the seeking soul. The second answer is that God is only known, truly known, according to His ways, and not those of men.

The Business Of Our Father

The business of the Father is that endeavor of the Father that is eternal in scope, life-giving in essence, and for the unveiling of His glory forever. This is the great enterprise of heaven, to glorify God by a multitude of souls saved, and filled with the life of Christ. Wonder of wonders, He calls us as believers to participate in such an endeavor, according to His will, and always by His Spirit.

The Breach In The Wall

What is a breach in a wall? It is a place of vulnerability, where access can be gained by an enemy. The wall was meant not to keep people in, but to keep the enemy out. When Nehemiah built the wall of Jerusalem, it was to put a separation between that which was of God and that which was an enemy of God. When God makes a breach in the heart of a man, it is just the opposite in that God comes to save, and is not the enemy. He looks for the opening, thus gaining access to the heart, that the individual may truly live.

Knowing, Receiving, And Using The Gift Of God

It is one thing to know truth. It is another that truth becomes me. Many were the people in Jesus' day who heard Him speak. How many truly grasped the importance of what He was saying, came to Him, and yielded themselves to Him, the Messiah, the King, and as Thomas put it, "My Lord and My God.?"

God's Education Given Unto Men

It is almost certain that to follow Christ, the education of man must be greatly undone. Why? God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. So then, where does true education begin? It begins as Mary discovered so long ago, at the feet of Jesus, being receptive to what He was saying, and making His word to be her own by faith.

Giving Christ Access To Every Circumstance

If Christ is the life of the believer, is it not right to give Him access to every circumstance of life to see what He will do, and how He will direct. He will not fail, nor turn aside from His child. His resources are more than sufficient to meet every need, whether great or small. What He needs is access, given by the believer, to be Lord of that heart and life, in every circumstance.

The Race Set Before Us

The call of God to lost man is that he should live, live eternally by the virtue of Christ's life within the heart, and sins forgiven. It is a call also a call run a race, a race against time and resources, to "apprehend that for which I am apprehended." God has a purpose in bringing us to Himself, and making us a new creation in Christ. Ours is to pursue Him with our whole hearts, realizing that as we are running we are always in His hand.
