For Jesus' Sake
What is the greatest and highest motive for seeking the mercy of God? It is for Jesus' sake. Throughout the Old Testament into the New, there is no higher privilege, honor, or blessing than to seek God for His sake, because of His glory and worthiness. The book of the Revelation declares this so very clearly and powerfully. God is worthy to receive the glory, all being done for His sake. Our's is to rejoice in the privilege and expectation of His working wonderfully to accomplish His will and work in answer to prayer.
Watching And Waiting
Waiting on God is just being patient, hoping for the best. It is a deliberate setting of oneself to trust in God according to His word, His commands and promises. Sometimes this involves great patience, for God's timetable is not our own. But there are times when God moves quickly to bring about His perfect will and purposes. The man of faith looks at Christ and not at the clock.
The Message That God Blesses
What is the message that God blesses? It is certainly that which is based upon His Word, for there are remarkable promises associated with His Word being received. These promises are summarized by what the Lord says about His word that goes forth from His mouth. It shall not return unto Him voice, and it will accomplish all that He purposes.
Ready To Meet Christ
There are a good many things that are certain in this life. Perhaps that which is of highest importance is the meeting of the believer with Christ at His coming, whether by the rapture of the church, by death, or His coming to set up His reign on this earth. With all that is historically whirling around us, there is the great meeting that is coming, and it will come in God's time. God has prepared all things in Christ that we should be ready to meet Him.
Personal Revival
What is personal revival? Literally it means to live again, or to experience the nearness, and life-giving strength by the Spirit that God gives to the one walking with Him. Is it possible to be revived? All is possible by the Spirit, and the precious blood of Christ, for cleansing and for the blessed quickening.
Keeping The Slipping Foot
What occurs when one loses his footing, especially on the mountains of life? There can be injury, delay, or even the deterance from finishing the climb. How then does one climb, with feet that are stable and not slipping? It by trusting in the Christ who is the Rock, and our stability. He keeps the foot from slipping.
Balance In The Christian Life
Essential to running a race is balance. Whether the short sprint or the long distance course, each is to be prepared for, and accomplished with a great measure of balance. So is the case with the Christian. If he or she is to finish well, then Christ must be sought for balance, in wisdom and knowledge.
The Things Of God And Of Men
The things of God are often not the things of men. They are as different as heaven's distance from earth. How then are they known? God by His Spirit has chosen to reveal them to us in His mercy and grace. It is as man comes to know the things of God that he rises from the dust to marvelous heights of fellowship with God.
The Inseparable Love Of God
How is it that the believer can never be separated from the love of God in Christ. It is because of the design of the Father, who chose to place every believer into Christ, making him forever complete and perfect in Him. This union between Christ and the believer is inseparable, and thus, the love of God remains the bond and power of that union. "One in Christ, we cannot die," being forever IN CHRIST, knowing the love of God in Christ.
Stones Crying Out
When God moves in victorious power, there is great joy. When one sinner repents, Scripture tells us that the angels in heaven rejoice, as they are filled with the joy of the Lord. Sometimes stones can cry out, and mountains can sing. God is able to do this, for His joy is overwhelming in its scope and power. The joy of the Lord is indeed our strength.
