For forty days Jesus met with his people, comforted their sorrows, instructed them in the kingdom of God and prepared them for the mission ahead to be a witness to the nations. Then he ascended into heaven and was enthroned as Lord of all at God's right hand as the disciples go back to Jerusalem and wait for the gift of the Spirit of God.
